AWOG Heart Pillow Party, October 2024

In Honor of Breast Cancer Women Warriors - Stitching Strength and Solidarity since 2008

On October 11, 2025, AWOG hosted its 2nd Annual Heart Pillow Project at the Konstantinos Michalos Entrepreneurship Center of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, celebrating 17 years of continuous support for women breast cancer warriors.

Members and friends came together to cut, stuff, stitch, and sew heart-shaped pillows, symbols of comfort and solidarity for women on their healing journeys. This heartfelt initiative would not have been possible without the incredible team effort behind the scenes: from fabric donors and cutters to dedicated sewers, stuffers, and deliverers.

As longtime member Elizabeth Athanassiadis, pictured on the left below quoted:

“There is no ‘I’ in TEAM. That’s why this project has always been so valuable and vital to AWOGreece! Everyone is a contributor, and everyone is a winner!”

We would like to extend a special thank you to our dedictaed members, Elizabeth Athanassiadis and Jai Gerardos for donating fabric, cutting, and sewing, to Robin Hionis for her signature ribbon cookies and Helen Limberis-Pantelis for her delicious chocolate chip cookies. We would also like to thank our volunteer Vicky Klimi, for securing the beautiful venue and generously providing snacks.

Through our Heart Pillow Project, we are reminded of the profound impact of simple acts of kindness and the power of community.
